Special hip new hotel with truly outstanding staff members who had provided outstanding service. Brand-new a double room with gorgeous toiletries.

Varied and savoury breakfast with fresh fare and the more routine options, as for instance and GOOD service. Particularly good and perfect location, approx 10-15 minutes' walk from Lounge.

All my thoughts, no sugarcoating

The location is a gem! Just a short stroll to the CBD and vibrant Lygon Street. The staff are genuinely wonderful, from helpful check-in to good little touches in the room. Excellent amenities, and the comfortable bed made for a superb night's sleep. Definitely a place I'd return to!

We are regular customers of the Downtowner and have been for years. It is clean, comfortable motel with a great location. Parking is a plus.

We were disappointed that there was a big discrepancy in what we were charged last month when we booked directly by phone, and what we were charged through Booked.net this time for the exact same room style. The website said that only a king room was available. We booked this as our visit was connected to an urgent unexpected medical appointment. We were not given a king room. But we were given a king room account. The room was just fine but the charge was unfair.

Well-designed and compact unit with a very big bathroom, comfortable bed plus nice touches.

The proximity to diverse dining options was fantastic. The spacious shower added a nice touch to our experience.

The frosted glass bathroom walls could be more private, and room configurations feel a bit cramped at times.

The Downtowner on Lygon is in a fantastic location, close to wonderful restaurants and the centre of the city. Parking is available which made visiting very easy. We also got a fantastic price through a special deal on Booked.net which was brilliant.

It was close to city and lovely resturants

The price was too high considering you have to pay $20 to park there and just to watch an in house movie was between $17-$20 which was ridiculous considering it was just a dvd on a small screen television.

The bathroom features frosted glass walls, which may pose privacy concerns for those sharing a room. The configuration of the furniture can feel cramped, especially when attempting to store luggage. The bed arrangement of two singles pushed together can be uncomfortable, leading to disturbances during sleep due to the noticeable join.

Close to the business I visit and also very close to CBD. Greet design of the rooms Friendly, helpful staff. Value for money. Good breakfast.

Do need better above bed lighting - very hard to read in bed. Lighing in room could be better - even woring at the desk there is no direct light above.

The friendly staff provided thoughtful touches in the room, including a high-quality hairdryer and excellent toiletries. Despite the cozy design, the room felt a bit cramped with limited space around the bed. While the air conditioning struggled during a heatwave was great, the location was fantastic, close to many dining options and just a short walk to public transport.

Convenience of the position in relation to the city, Melbourne University and dining in Lygon Street? Have been staying with them for many years and will continue to do so.

Noise can be a problem at times from the street.

The dark haired, dimpled receptionist girl had the most amazing smile ever, she was beautiful and friendly. wish everyone was like her. Compliments from room 109 booked last friday to Saturday, good price & service =)
